The idea is to link IP3 calcium induced oscillations to acto-myosin contractility. I think there is a link between the tension of the cortical actin and calcium signaling. In short:
1. At the equilibrium state actin binds to myosin at a given ratio and at a specified rate giving rise to Acto-myosin polymer. If the concentration of Acto-myosin polymer is at a suboptimal concentration, calcium is released by ER through IP3 pathway.
2. High concentration of calcium in the cytoplasm leads to Acto-myosin polymer depolymerization, cycle repeats until the equilibrium between actin and myosin is reached.
